The Nuus has no accounts, and we never try to work out who you are. This policy covers the website (thenuus.com) and The Nuus iOS app. Last updated 2 September 2026.
Anonymous usage analytics. Both the website and the iOS app measure how the product is used: which edition was opened, which story was tapped, whether an article was opened at its original publisher, whether the audio version was played, and which settings were changed. This is handled by PostHog on our behalf, and includes the ordinary technical details any site receives — approximate location from your IP address, device type, browser or app version, and referring page. These events are anonymous: they are not attached to your name, your email address, or an advertising identifier.
Session recordings on the website. The website records anonymous playback of page activity — clicks, scrolling and navigation — so we can see where the layout gets in people's way. Anything typed into a form is masked before the recording is stored, so the email box on the subscribe form is never captured. The iOS app does not do this.
The email digest. If you subscribe, we store the address you give us and use it for one thing: sending the daily digest. It is never sold or shared, and it is never sent to our analytics. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address.
What we don't do. No advertising, no ad networks, no data brokers. We don't sell or share what we collect, we don't track you across other sites, and we don't build a profile of you as an individual.
Third-party links. Stories link out to the original publishers. Once you leave The Nuus, those sites' own privacy policies apply.
